Welcome to the QOS Project Page
QOS is a scalable, cross-platform, object-oriented monitoring
system for a network of computers. It is fully functional and was used
to monitor egroups.com's cluster of computers. It will monitor
individual host and network resources. It will log that information
into simple files for each resource for each host. With this data you
will be able to trigger a notification or do accurate reporting on
uptime for systems.
QOS supports monitoring several standard system parameters and network
services, including:
- Cpu
- Disk
- Memory
- DNS
- Mail & file queues
- DiskSuite
- Oracle Tablespaces
- Processes
- Snmp
- Tcp
- Web
- SSL Web/HTTPS
- or your own command to monitor whatever!
QOS is written in Python, which is easy to learn and manage, so if you
want to extend QOS beyond Command, you simply subclass the base
monitor class and extend to your hearts content.
