Once the files are extracted, a couple of initial configuration tasks are required before generating the initial configuration file.
The QOS Server requires the directories CollectedData and Database be created below the start directory. Also, the initial state database qos.db.seed should be copied into the Database directory as qos.db. These directories must be writable by the server process. Finally, copy the sample configuration file ConfData.db.orig to the actual configuration file ConfData.db and edit it to mach the site monitoring desired.
The QOS Agent requires the file QOS_Server to be created in the base directory. Also, the qosagent.init file must be edited to set the PREFIX so the Agent is started correctly on system boot. Once the files are in place, qosagent.init can be placed in the boot-time configuration for the system so the agent will start on a reboot.
